Arkham Asylum debut trailer arrives

PS3 News | Take a peek inside the facility for the criminally insane.
The first trailer has arrived for the upcoming Batman title, Batman: Arkham Asylum, giving players a guided tour inside the home of Gotham City's criminally insane super-villains.

While the trailer doesn't give much about the game away, it is enough of a tease to keep players waiting on edge until the game's release next year. Fans of Batman: The Animated Series will be pleased to note that both Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy will reprise their voice roles from the series, as they give voice to the Joker and Batman in Arkham Asylum

Batman: Arkham Asylum comes out in the first quarter of 2009 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Top of my "to buy" list for 2009 for sure... unless they annouce an Uncharted 2, then it'll be 2nd. Cant wait for another Batman game... although i must say I would have preferred an open-world Gotham City a bit like the Spider-Man games; but this is the next best thing.

For some reason, i can't see a openworld/sandbox Batman game working. I mean, in GTA you can steal cars, in Spiderman his mode of transport is swinging. But batmans glides/jumps from roof tops and has the batmobile. If your on ground level and you've left the car behind, you'd have to 'summon' it, and waiting for the car would take away from the urgency of a situation. I don't know that much about the character of batman, but i can't see it working with what i know of his style.

Like the trailer. i was a little dissapointed that its just showing off the enviroments. Some dialogue over the top of the gameplay might have been cool.
Looking over at the IMDB page for the game, it say Conroy and Hamill are in for the voices. Very cool, They both did a great job with B: TAS.
