Bioshock DLC almost here

PS3 News | Challenge rooms get priced.
Publisher 2K today revealed that the previously announced exclusive downloadable content for the PlayStation 3 edition of Bioshock will set gamers back $9.99 US.

This download will contain three challenge rooms, which will feature "new locations, objectives and artwork not seen anywhere else in the game" as well as additional trophies for players to collect. The objectives of each challenge room has been revealed, showing that this time around the emphasis is on brain power rather than fire power in order to succeed:
  • A Shocking Turn of Events - A Little Sister is trapped atop a Ferris wheel in an undisclosed location in Rapture. Using only the tools and environment around them, players must use their wits to create electricity to power the Ferris wheel and bring the Little Sister to safety.

  • The I in Team - Using limited resources, and an even more limited arsenal, players must negotiate traps and find a way to defeat a Big Daddy using their wits instead of raw firepower.

  • Worlds of Hurt - Step up and take on the most grueling challenge offered in the world of Rapture. Players must battle through eight rooms of Big Daddies, Splicers and the worst that Rapture has to offer. Accumulate Adam, build an arsenal of Plasmids, Tonics and Weaponry, and fight through to rescue the Little Sister.

Bioshock's Challenge Room DLC will be available to download from November 20.

The only reason I was going to get Bioshock on PS3 which is the full retail price was because of the challenge rooms. But I thought they would be free.

Might as well get the cheaper 360 version. Because I cant pay full price for Bioshock on PS3 then pay more for the challenge rooms.

I'm disgusted by this. I mean, first off, wasn't this promised on launch and included on the disc? And they want to charge $10 US (so most likely 15 or more here) for what is only going to take less than 30 minutes to complete? This DLC thing is going too far in my opinion. Well, they're certainly not getting my money.

Now I feel good that I did not sell my 360 copy of bioshock and go for the PS3 version -
these challenge rooms should have been free -

I think ill just wait for the "free" patch to fix the big daddy graphical issues.

I thought these would be stupid, but they actually sound quite fun. Too bad I am not a huge fan of Bioshock.
