LittleBigPlanet sequel already underway

PS3 News | More in store for Sackboy?
In an interview with Media Molecule, BBC have uncovered that work has already begun on a sequel to LittleBigPlanet, even though the game has yet to hit most shops around the world due to the recent recall.

BBC also reported that Sony are looking at expanding LittleBigPlanet into a full-fledged franchise, which could mean "spin offs including comics, cartoons, and action figures as well as a publishing platform itself for other brands' content."

Currently, LittleBigPlanet is being tipped to be released in Australia the week commencing November 3rd, with many game outlets quoting a release date of November 7th.

What can they really do with a sequel?

^ hopefully add the ability to make costumes and the such for sackboy instead of charing premium prices for things such as sephiroth and snake costumes. Also increase the level size. Even though thats really a bandwidth issue (having to make levels small enough to be downloaded quickly.)

But yeah..other that that..not that much really.

Will be released before the original finds it's way to shelves
Seriously, people laughed at Mirrors Edge for announcing a sequel before release - here, the release has actually been delayed as well.... icon_rolleyes.gif

Not that I don't think this game will be awesome, it's just demeaning to fans to say that the developers are already moving on when the game isn't even out. Mirrors Edge is more plot focused, so sequels were probably planned from the start, and will use the same engine and resource. Less likely for LBP.
