Looking good

Skating games have come a long way graphically since the ol' Tony Hawks on PS1. The release date can't come soon enough.

the depth of field effect (especially in that last screenshot) looks so hot I want to touch myself.

Have they fixed the camera yet?

I personally never saw anything wrong with the camera angle. It's only ever really screwed up on me once or twice over almost a year of playing it.

It isn't really that hard to adjust to, in my opinion.

The camera for me made the game..... I liked that it was as if a guy was following you around and filming you, talking to you every once and a while..... I think it wouldn't be the same if it was given a camera like say Tony Hawk...... All skate needed was a bit of tightening on the flick it system...... I personally cannot wait for skate 2!

I think so long as you understand what the camera is doing, it's ok, although I'd like them to adjust the respawning after bails becuase they always seem to dump you facing the worst possible direction.

I enjoyed the camera. More immersive for me

I'm glad people enjoyed it, but why only give one option?
I don't think i'm only the one who had an issue with it, I found it made landing rails just that little bit harder because it you were slightly off-centre and basically the guys back was in the way. To me, this isn't immersive, its just annoying. If i wanted real immersion I'd want to be seeing out of the skater's eyes not one foot behind his back. Here's a good example:

FOOT!

Oh there's certainly issues to the camera, but I've found I could work around them, for the most part. The most annoying thing was not being able to see people in front of you, that frustrates me.

Besides it's a nice looking foot.

FOOT!
1. The camera moves back the faster you go.
2. It's not like the foot is there in the camera for the entire duration.

the camera really did wreck it, and setting up for a big line only to push the analogue stick a little too far and having to work your way up again = not fun!

I learnt REALLY early on that skate markers were your bestest friend in the entire game. Without that sucker I do believe the cd would have become a frisbee within a day of buying it.

i rally cant wait for this game, i think that the first skate was one of the best games released this generation and after playing tony hawk's project 8 i cant see myself going back to the old style.

geez if you didn't use the markers, i fear how long it would take to finish the game. I had to reset myself about 400 times at one point to do one of the films, doing that manually would be pain, much pain.

There were only two insane Photo Challenges that I hated.

Both contained 360 Flips to a specific grind. It was utterly brutal.

That being said, I can't be bothered going for the final challenges because I just often end up getting distracted along the way.

I thought it was rather easy actually. (although I did put in a crazy ammount of hours into the demo alone) Hopefully the difficulty is ramped up a bit in #2

the only part of skate that frustrated me was the 'skate' parts where you had to compete against a pro, the later guys just whiped out the most rediculous tricks that were just too hard to copy, but still.... best game ever!

Generally the pro's don't like to copy 360 and 540 spins, i beat one guy toward the end with an awesome series of 360 ollies and nollies icon_lol.gif
