FFXIII demo limited to first batch of Advent Children: Complete?

PS3 Rumour | Those who wait could miss out.
A poster on NeoGAF has translated a Japanese magazine article, which apparently reveals that only the first batch of the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children: Complete Blu-ray will come with the promised bonus Final Fantasy XIII demo. This news means that the demo will quickly be swept up by Japanese fans upon the film's release on Blu-ray, and those without pre-orders may be left out in the cold, especially if you were planning on importing from outside the country.

According to the article's translation, the first batch of Advent Children: Complete Blu-rays won't be labelled as limited or special editions, and they will be the same price as later batches which ship without the demo. Advent Children: Complete will be released in Japan in March, 2009, and the first print will also be bundled with the first publicly released trailers of Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII.

Crap, looks like I'd better get myself a pre-order as soon as they're available!

Why bother? I don't know why people will go out of their way to spend money on demo they'll most likely won't understand that most likely be half-hour long tops, along with a movie they won't understand either. (Unless you speak fluent Japanese, which I bet is a rarity here.)

It's a pity the movie was soooo....bad. Nice CGI though.

I think you were watching spirits within.

The movie was retarded, and thats why I loved it, they put in like 10 minutes of story then just had non stop fight scenes for the rest.

It was **** awesome.

I thought the movie was fairly horrible, but I like it because it's FF7 which is what they were counting on from the start.

Physics defying confrontations for the win!

I'm not too broken up about the demo, I think it's quite likely it will show up on the PSN some day, or maybe with a US release of Advent Children. I'm certainly not going to buy a japanese version of a movie I already own just for that.

I will be buying Advent Children Complete when it comes out here though icon_biggrin.gif

Hope the western release has better subtitles. I remember watching a fan-sub of the original shortly after release, and i found the subs much more interesting then what was on the DVD release over here(that said, i've got it on UMD and the Limited Edition they released early this year).
It was a really a beautifly animated film, and apparently 'Complete' fixes some of the issues my friends had with it (clothes not tearing/getting dirty, hair not getting wet)

Sorry but you're an idiot. Why buy a movie that you think is horrible just cause of the brand name attached to it?

You misunderstand me... As a stand alone movie it is bad, it features very little story and it's badly done BUT because it is a continuation of a game I love, with characters I love, I quite enjoyed it despite it being a crap movie.

^ I think he means that the story was poor, but it was worth watching for the mind-bending action scenes and impressive quality CGI work. That's how I felt about the movie, anyway - hence the plus.

Edit: Beat to it, and a touch off the mark anyway.

I also found it fairly enjoyable to watch, but I wouldn't consider it a 'good' movie. Like most people, I thought the story was rubbish, but when swords start to cut buildings in half, I pay attention.

pretty much summed it up for me.

the only reason i even bother with FF games is for the cgi, so when something FF comes out without all the rubbish between the cgi, i'm happy.
the film makes no sense, but it's cool to watch.

and i like Spirits Within.
(seriously. not being funny here. one of the few FF things i honestly like.)

We could be twins! (You be DeVito... )
I found myself enjoying Spirits Within, and then having to try my hand at defending it to damned near everyone I ever spoke about it with.

Reminds me, I should get that on DVD one of these days.

I too like Spirits Within, cried like a bitch at the end.

Damn, here I was hoping to offload my VHS of it. icon_razz.gif bloopers and such on the DVD are cringe worthy but yeah likewise, I enjoyed TSW and everytime it came up I ended being about the only one explaining why it didn't suck balls.

And only thing from Advent Children I actually adored was the soundtrack...

I agree with you. Initially I was dissapointed with the Spirits Within (because it wasn't really over the top in the vein of FFVII etc) but it's got a pretty good plot and well crafted story.

Advent Children is just a stupid fanboy mess of a flick with no real substance. It's still enjoyable to watch though and sits happily in my DVD collection and no doubt in my blu-ray collection soon enough.

Yep, I definitely agree with you guys, AC is a bad movie, but great fan service. It's basically just an excuse to watch Cloud and Co go to town on some baddies, illustrated with some impressive CGI. icon_smile.gif I'm in two minds about the demo, on the one hand, it's a demo of FFXIII which is someithing I've been dying to play since I saw the original trailer. On the other hand, it'll all be in Japanese, so I might not understand it properly. Maybe they'll release an English version when AC gets released in the U.S? Hmm.

Given that we've gotten demos for all the other FF games I'm pretty sure at least the US will be getting some form of demo at some point.
