Mirror's Edge dated for Europe

PS3 News | Demo out next week, too.
EA has announced that the upcoming free-running/first-person combat game, Mirror's Edge, will be released in Europe on the 14th of November, three days after North America. That's the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, anyway - the PC release is still scheduled for Q4, but a date has yet to be specified.

In the meantime, EA and DICE will be putting a demo of the game on Xbox Live and PSN next Friday, the 26th of September. The demo will let players have a taste of the game's prologue - including the tutorial - and part of the game's single player mode.

Oh, and, in a nice touch, people who pre-order the game will get a code to unlock the time trial mode in the demo, where players have to race across buildings and jump over things really, really fast. We're not sure whether or not this will carry over to Australia, but if it does rest assured that we'll let you know which retailers are doing it.

Earlier this month, EA said that the PS3 version will be receiving exclusive downloadable content, but there's been no confirmation as to what this entails as of yet.

Wow.. this kinda just snuck up on me. I must be slipping in my old age.. At least its nice to see a game get previewed and then come out within a reasonable time frame later..

I know we all love hearing about new games, but when you then have to wait 2+ years for it, the sheen kinda dulls a bit..

Will definitely be downloading the demo next week to see if this plays as well as it looks.

wow, didn't expect that.

The end of this year is going to be a harsh hit to the wallet, at least for me. Glad they're releasing a demo - not because I was unsure of whether to buy the game, that had been decided upon viewing the first video, but because I'll get something to play with earlier icon_smile.gif

Hooray for good news on an otherwise pretty 'meh' Friday morning!

Well that means two games to buy for myself as birthday presents for the 13th of November, the other being Silent Hill: Homecoming icon_biggrin.gif

I hear that... I did a quick count of upcoming releases: there's roughly 25(!) games coming out in the next 3 months that I'm interested in... half of those I will almost certainly buy.

Silent Hill : homecoming's Pal release of the delayed to the 28th of November from what i've heard (silenthill5.net posted that date when they got the new PAL boxart). Might end up being a little late to your party.
It should be making my birthday just fine though icon_razz.gif

kinda dislike all these titles coming out at the end of the month, its like everyones competing for the christmas sales. Theres a heap of games i want now, i'll probably only get 3 more befor end of year. (damn cheap job, i want more money)

I still need to hear more about this DLC before I choose between PC and PS3. Ordinarily I wouldn't even consider buying an FPS on a console, but since this is hardly an FPS I'm torn. Mirror's Edge just seems like it'll feel better with a controller. Exclusive DLC and a potentially earlier release date are putting the sway on me.

^Agreed. Action/adventure is very different from FPS, and imo is what consoles are best at.

The 360 version for me.

The PC delay makes my hard decision for me. Won't be touching the demo though, I already know I want this game baaaadlllyyy and playing the demo is only going to make me want it more icon_razz.gif

Can't wait for this game. I've already worked out that there are 11 more games I want to purchase before the end of the year.

I've already pre-ordered the US version of Silent Hill: Homecoming from Playasia(So I can get it before late November...) and I've also pre-ordered the US PS3 version of Eternal Sonata.
