Far Cry 2 dated, Collectors' Edition detailed

Ubisoft has just confirmed via press release that Far Cry 2 will be landing on store shelves across Australia on October 23. The free-roaming shooter will be released simultaneously on PC (check out the system requirements here), Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

"Far Cry 2 is an amazing journey that will take you to the darkest places of Africa where each player will choose how they play. This will provide gamers with an unprecedented experience in the FPS genre," said John Parkes, EMEA Marketing Director.

It has also been announced that Far Cry 2 will be receiving the Collectors' Edition treatment. The Collectors' version will include an exclusive wooden box, limited edition Far Cry 2 t-shirt, art book, collector map and making-of DVD. The folks at Ubisoft have informed us that the Collectors' Edition can be pre-ordered from all leading retailers. In the meantime, fans can check out the contents in the media panel below.

Damn, wooden box... can't import it then thanks to quarantine laws...

Hopefully they don't go and ruin this one with mutant monkeys. I was having the time of my life in Far Cry until they pulled that crap...

Brilliant, i believe fable 2 also comes out that day or there-abouts...

So glad I am getting money now, I can finally get all these awesome games. I knew I would get this the moment I saw it, it looks so fun. Probably will get the collectors edition.
