Fallout 3 passes classification

PS3 News | Post-apocalyptic title rated MA 15+.
The Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification has officially classified Fallout 3. Bethesda's anticipated role-playing game has earned a MA 15+ rating.

The OFLC's additional consumer advice for Fallout 3 includes strong violence, drug references and coarse language.

After Bethesda's RPG was refused classification by the OFLC last month, it was unclear whether the post-apocalyptic title would ever make it to Australia. But last Monday, it was reported that game retailers had been informed an edited version of Fallout 3 would be making its way onto store shelves. Those rumours appear to have been correct.

It is not yet fully clear what modifications have been made to the Australian version of Fallout 3. Any edits, however, will have addressed the issues in the OFLC's last report, which refused the game classification.

Regardless of weather we are or not getting ripped of in respective prices and vallue of currency etc. The fact remains, I can import a game for usualy around half the price of buying it localy.

So **** buying it localy.

it annoys me that we're left to guess what was changed.

surely when someone submits an altered item for re-review, they would have to submit the reasons for the first submission being refused (or why it received a higher rating) along with a sheet of how they've addressed these things.

why can't the OFLC make these details public?

it'd sure as s**t go a long way to providing providence on their decisions, and improving the public's opinion on their choices, imo.
(i understand that the GTA4 changes were different in that no prior submission was rejected, but in this case there was.)

on the article's contents though - looks like it might be purely cosmetic. although i do wonder because a lot of those chem names i'm pretty sure were present in the older fallouts, and if this is true, was this really an altered submission, or did they appeal the initial decision using precedents set in older reviews and, you know, logic?
(i'm aware the statement says it's a revised version, i'm asking if this line is correct.)

given the chem names are so Fallout 1/2 sounding, makes me wonder if these were really changed, and what the actual revisions to the game really are.
(note - the statement still refers to "proscribed drugs" which to me implies that Morphine is still called Morphine.)

I am wondering why Betheda or Red ant refuse to publicise what was cut?

according to an article on IGN. All that was cut was just the name of the drugs.

Bad publicity? I doubt they see much to gain from publicising what they cut from their game. The censors wouldn't be in a good position to tell either, it's not really their place apart from revealing why it was rejected, then why it was accepted, it's not their job to keep track of changes...

anyone happen to know if there is or is not multi player for the ps3 version?

Is there any remote chance? Eg. future patch of some sort? If so, I'll jump on the pre-order CE from play asia band-wagon

I highly doubt there will be multiplayer, but I have been known to be wrong in the past.
