Overlord: Raising Hell competition winners announced

PS3 Competition | You too, could soon be raising hell.
PALGN recently teamed up with Atari to give away five copies of Overlord Raising Hell on the PlayStation 3. To win we simply asked our entrants to head over to the Atari's Overlord Raising Hell website and grab the answer the following question: What are the Overlord’s helpers called? Then, with the answer in hand, tell us in 25 words or less "Like the Overlord who uses minions, who would you use to carry out all your dirty work?".

Well, we're pleased to announce the winners of the competition are:

Brett W, QLD
Cleaners! Unfortunately my dirty work is more literal than it is morbid.

Christian B, QLD
Ewoks, because no one would suspect them

Tristan K, ACT
A combination of bees, ninjas and MacGyver. There is nothing that combination couldn't do.

Thomas D, NSW
that no bingo guy, he is unemployed and said he desperately needed work

Our lucky forum member, Capoeira, has also won a copy of the game through our auction system. Congratulations to all the winners and PALGN would like to thank Atari for the prizes.

I'm yes and no on this issue.

Yes: I think it's a great idea to reserve one game for forum regulars
No: I don't think it's fair that one forum member can rack up thousands of dollars worth of games while the rest are left empty-handed.

I think there may be two solutions to this:

1) Limit the amount of competition games a forumer can bid on to one per year
2) Change the forumer competition to something like a "post of the week/month" as voted on by other forumers.

My thoughts.
Nah, I prefer my idea

Change that to one successful bid per year and I think you're on to something

oh come on, im still a newish member here, but these are the first comps ive seen TheAnswer win by bidding with spoons (yes i could be wrong) But like everyone he saved them up, and bought them. Now he is back to barley any, and all the rest of you with high spoons can buy something.

Sure TheAnswer sells things for spoons, but a lot of users appreciate that, as they may not be able to afford things with real money at the time. I think that's great.

I know I would appreciate them if I wasn't saving my spoons for a big splurge at the auctions... whenever I save enough.. (i got a long way to go)

In simplest from, its like the circle of life, if you save your time will come. And the current people in the spotlight enjoy their time.

I actually have no problem with TheAnswer putting stuff up for auction, beyond him I think I've put up the most user auctions and I'll most likely put a couple more up in the near future.

Most people are just getting at the fact that people who really want these games and may not have the money are giving up on winning auctions because they are used to TheAnswer from just bidding on anything and everything that is new and it doesn't matter if he sells it a lower than retail price to other people because some of those other people could have just won that auction and not spent any money.

It doesn't really matter though because I think it may be a little while before Answer successfully wins an auction.

But what is defined as a forum regular? There are probably quite a few people that browse these forums and have been doing so for a long time, yet never post. Are they regulars? I believe a competition is for everyone, but agree that youonly enter if you indeed do want the prize.

Perhaps a better idea is if you win a competition, you can't enter another one for 6 months or so?

ok, well thing is, the answer got most of his spoons of the game trade and that is how he was easily able to amass an odd $300 extra spoons than anyone else to begin with icon_biggrin.gif i really wanted to win Grid on pc (to give to a friend for his bday) and in the end theanswer sniped me in the last 30 seconds, but hey if he can somehow amass all these spoons its not any of our right to question it, after all he is taking a risk to incase luke wants to do a suprise spoon wipe or something, at the same time it does suck that 1 person can just go win everything in an auction, but hey theanswer has sold stuff for spoons (eg he sold me arcade unplugged posted for $95) and thats how he got it, you win some you lose some... There is no real problem with the competitions at the moment, i acutally think its great that there are so many.
