New info on PlayStation 3's Afrika

PS3 News | Let's take photos!
It seems like an eternity since we last last heard anything about Afrika, but finally some light has been shed on exactly what you do in the title.

Some of Afrika's gameplay details were finally revealed on Gaming Today. You will be a photo-journalist taking pictures of African wildlife on foot and from vehicles. You can also unlock non-CG pictures and rare research footage of animals you encounter. The more photos you take, the more animals you witness on your journey.

The game will be out on the 28th of August in Japan, and whether or not Afrika will be released in other regions is yet unknown.

This "game" sounds really sweet. Sometimes I feel like having a break away from all of these intense FPSs and RPGs and Africa certainly sounds like a nice option. I remember how zen it was for me taking care of my Pinatas in Viva Pinata and I'm guessing this would be somewhat of the same experience icon_wink.gif I'm really looking forward to seeing some videos of this game in action.

This would be cool enough to import from Japan if it doesn't come here.

i want a game where you are the animal, and grow throughout it's life fighting of predators or being the predator. also you get to choose what ever animal you want to be bird, eagle, lion or chettah i think that would be awesome.

Seeing as the thread is back, may as well post some news. The game is getting a Western release, as "National Geographic's Africa".
