Mirror's Edge video released

PS3 News | A video you have to see.
EA has released a video for DICE's Mirror Edge. The game is a parkour inspired first person shooter that frankly looks absolutely fantastic.

The video is a teaser video and can be viewed here. We strongly recommend our readers watch the video, because at least graphically, the game looks absolutely stellar.

Mirror's Edge is set for release at the end of the year on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, and we'll have more on the game shortly.

Amazing trailer, but the game is for PS3/360/PC, not just consoles.

The video, at least the one I saw, was from the PC version. My only issue is that it seems like, while the whole jumping thing is cool it doesn't actually look all that exciting, nor does it feel like there is a sense of danger to it, the jumps were too "floaty" for my liking.

As of this moment, I am planning to buy this game. However they have a while to stuff it up icon_wink.gif

I plan on making this game my bride. It's so refreshing to see a game set in a non-post-apocalyptic future, where there are more colours than grey and brown. It's worrying that first-person platforming is usually terrible, so I hope that they can pull it off.

This gave me an errection...

2 things - This is why GTA IV is not a 10 for graphics. No blurriness in the background to hide graphical flaws.

I don't like first person view though - there is just too much camera movement in this video when you're jumping. It really needs to be third person.

I disagree, I think it looks fantastic the way it is and is one of the reasons I'm so excited about it.

I think the reason EA wants it to stay in first person is for pacing reasons. When I am playing a first person game I tend to just run and plan my next move on the fly, whereas in a game like Assassin's Creed in third person I tend to stop and swivel the camera and try to figure out my next move ahead of time. The feeling I got from the trailer was that they want you to keep running and not already know what you are going to do next.

This really does look amazing, clean and fresh and bright. Hardly the type of things you see unless it's aiming towards a younger audience.

Though it doesn't feel as if there's any danger element, unless there are chase scenes etc.

I never thought of it that way but thats a really good point.

It's refreshing to see D!CE take on a new direction. You can only Battlefield so much, before it gets a little mundane..

The colours were interesting. Let's hope this has something new to offer gamers.
