GTA IV PlayStation 3 patch coming soon

PS3 News | Should fix all those lockup and multiplayer issues.

Rockstar has confirmed that they will be patching the PlayStation 3 version of Grand Theft Auto IV within the next 24 hours, to improve the multiplayer "experience".

The new patch should help by reducing the load on the servers at Gamespy and should also fix those random freezes that sometimes occur at the start of the game. There is no information on exactly when the patch will be made available, but we're certainly impressed by how fast Rockstar rushed the patch out.

Turned on my PS3 this morning to play a little bit of GTA4 before uni today and found an update message had come up GTA4 v1.01. Its 18mb and its a great job what Rockstar have done to get it to us as fast as possible

I suspect Rockstar already knew of the problem and have been working on the problem for a while now.. I mean, they couldn't of exactly delayed it on PS3 and released on X360 could they?

It wasn't a life threatening problem, so I believe they decided to go ahead with the world launch all the while their technicians were ironing out this bug. Good on them though for at least getting it to us within a reasonable time frame..

Have downloaded it and it seems to fix the problems, havent had a hang up yet and I was suffering from them all the time..

There are reports the patch isn't fixing the problem for some people.

I got an uncensored copy on the Ps3 from america and my console is always connected online, when I started up my game....zero problems as expected.

I still can't play online unless someone invites me.Which sucks because when I didn't want to play online, I kept getting invites.Now I want to play online, no one will invite me to a game.
