PlayStation Day 08: LittleBigPlanet delayed to a little further down the line

PS3 News | Now set for October.
LittleBigPlanet is a game we simply cannot wait to get our hands on, but Sony revealed today that we'll be waiting a little longer, with the game now set for release in October.

LittleBigPlanet was originally announced at GDC last year and is a game that focuses on putting the user in control and encouraging players work together to solve levels. The game was originally set for release in September this year, but will now be out sometime in October.

Weclome to the sony gamers day. We are excited to bring you Delays. But wait not just one but three delays. A big Thumbs up sony for your great work

Dude, it's a one month (or less) delay from September to October. I would be annoyed if it was a six month delay, but one month probably doesn't have anything to do with development and is just Sony locking in plans for the best sales time.

^Oh and lets not mention Killzone 2.

^Killzone 2 never had a release date, only speculation. It was only until yesterday that it was officially given a release window, and I'm not suprised it's a 09 title.

Yes, but all these "delays" actually make sense. Nobody should have been taking Sony's placeholder dates for their AAA titles seriously, now that the holiday season is getting closer they actually start announcing dates. Sony just has too many AAA titles to fit in, and will constantly be switching dates around for months now. Sure LittleBigPlanet was delayed from September to October, but now that leaves September open for Motorstorm: Pacific Rift and Infamous. The Killzone 2 delay was inevitable, Sony would never release two AAA FPS titles in the same period, so either Resistance 2 or Killzone 2 was going to slip to Q1 2009. It is all going to work out, but Sony needs to stagger their releases over the months so they don't overhwhelm the market. I don't think these delays have anything to do with development issues.

And in regards to Home, then that is one title where you can complain about a release date. I mean, they announced it at GDC 2007 AND WE STILL DON'T HAVE AN OPEN BETA!

I will still be there day 1. This to me is bigger than GTA, and is the reason of my PS3 purchase.
