Singstar PS3 Volume 2 to come with USB microphones

PS3 Rumour | Wireless microphones still not ready?
There is a heck of a lot that we still don't know about the recently announced Singstar Volume 2. We don't know if the title will simply add songs onto the store, or if the game will need to be inserted into the PlayStation 3 to play the songs. We also don't know whether the songs on the pack will be released on the PlayStation Store either.

We weren't sure whether Singstar Volume 2 would come with USB or wireless microphones, but a listing by retailer Top Shop seems to indicate that Singstar Volume 2 will come with USB microphones and not wireless microphones.

When Singstar for the PlayStation 3 was first announced it was revealed that wireless microphones were on the way. Months and years later we are unfortunately still waiting for these microphones.

It probably had motion support that interfered with the wireless signal.

been waiting for these wireless microphones for a long time. that and there aren't enough new songs in the singstore. Now if they had the weekly top 40 as downloadable videos Id be right there. And no doubt they would sell truckloads of PS3s.

I wonder how many PS3 people have gotten the PS3 version on singstar. I use to buy all the games on ps2 but i haven't got the ps3 versions yet.

i should imagine a digital wireless mic is expensive, i mean analogue wireless mic's arent too cheap either, maybe its a cost thing?

I just got Singstar the other night, my wife loved the games on PS2 but I never really played them but I'm loving it. I've got to say, if the wired mics are all that's stopping you from getting it, then I'd say just buy it, the cords are really long and the mic quality is excellent and I think if they were to go with wireless ones then either the quality would slip or the mics would weigh a tonne.
Anyway, JB Hi-Fi has the bundle for $79 at the moment so it's a bargain.

^ i think its more like people don't want anyone tripping over the cord and sending their $1000 console flying.

it happens. It happened to me on my ps2.

yep it happened to me with DDR. and no one at my party owned up and it cost me $270 to fix the disc drive from Sony (PS2's were 750 dollars back then). I was in my console infancy and didn't think about getting an console repairer to fix it so I just sucked it up and paid Sony to fix it.

No not really a mates got real wireless ones, just a tad heavier and no loss in quality.

Though are Sony making wireless or bluetooth mics?
