Haze demo coming next month

PS3 News | Single and online play on display.
Shooter fans will be glad to know that Ubisoft has announced that the PlayStation 3's squad-based shooter Haze will be receiving a demo, available online, early next month.

The demo will feature the campaign mode, but will be playable in both single player mode, and online co-op mode for up to four players.

Haze, from the folks at Free Radical, has had a tough life, experiencing delays, exclusivity battles and a generally negative reception amongst the press. Despite this, many punters have high hopes for the game, and hope that Free Radical can pull a gem out of nowhere.

Be it gem or half-baked, the demo will let us know what to expect when the game hits store shelves on May 22.

^ Plucked the words straight from my head.

I'm still nursing a candle for Free Radical... hoping that Haze displays some of the magic that they've built a reputation for with the Timespiltters games.

Good to hear hopefully it will be as good as I originally hoped. I will def download this and make my decision then as to if it is still worth buying or not. Now if only we could get a solid release date on Killzone 2.....

After all the bad press this game has gotten, I'm surprised that they are putting out a demo. I'm glad though and will definitely download it.

Even bad press can be good press? at least it's free. Hell I thought this game would flop but it seems that the extra time they have taken to 'fix it' has or will pay off.

I think I will be to busy playing GTA 4 really to even think about how this game is coming along anyway, good luck to FR.

After playing it again recently at Pause, I definitely have my hopes up. Game was a lot smoother and was actually really fun to play.

Definitely downloading the demo.

Great idea for the demo, with all the bad press they need to get the game out there for people to play. Hopefully it's good and positive word-of-mouth can spread up to the release date. Then they can announce a new Timesplitters and all will be right in the world.

Well this is a nice little piece of news, Ubisoft have always been a little more generous on their demo timing with some of their bigger titles so this is sort of expected.

I had a few minutes hand son with it at Egames last year but not enough to get to grips with it entirely, lets see if the demo can change my opinion of "okay-ish generic shooter" to something a little more pleasing.

Obvious download considering the massive hype that has follows the game throughout.

Am well aware of the criticisims that it has received in the past and am eager to form my own opinion.

Hoping this to be a good title.
