Mercenaries 2 dated in UK and US

PS3 News | But no word on an Aussie release…yet.
Over the last few days we've been told when The Bourne Conspiracy and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be hitting shelves. Now, IGN has got the drop on the European and North American release dates for Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. A new trailer of the game features the release dates for the US and UK – August 31 and September 5, respectively.

The sequel to the 2005 game features a massively destructible world and is again being developed by Pandemic Studios. LucasArts handled the publishing duties for the first Mercenaries title, but this time Electronic Arts is at them helm.

Though a release date for Australia was not included in the announcement, we will probably get it around the same time as the US and UK, if EA's previous marketing strategy is anything to go by. Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is currently in development on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and PC.
