Warhawk patched to 1.3

PS3 News | Brings with it Home support, now where is Home?

Sony's well supported online shooter Warhawk has been patched. The patch brings with it quite a few enhancements, most gameplay wise and technically.

First up there are two new weapons, the bio-field and a wrench. Balance issues have been tweaked and flag throwing has also been fixed. There are also trigger fixes and improved VOIP. Excitingly the new patch also enables Warhawk to communicate with Home, which is still yet to launch. The patch is available now and is available free of charge.

This patch just killed my copy of Warhawk completely! Now the PS3 won't even recognize the disc! WTF is going on?

I installed it correctly, so what's the deal?

Well that sounds promising!

But seriously, that sucks. Try deleting the Warhawk game data and reinstalling and patching the game.

I bought Warhawk last week due to the recommendations from online friends in other countries. Patched it up to 1.2 and loaded the game.
But I'm yet to actually get into a game for longer than a few minutes. It dies out with the message Network Connection Error and no hints as to why. I have to quit the whole game and restart it to see the server list again.

All the required ports are forwarded and I even tried putting the PS3 in a DMZ, but still only 4-5 mins of online play before I'm dumped. Anyone else have similar issues?

that sounds odd, i just updated and have had no problems (i've got a disc version aswell).

as the above user said, try deleting the warhawk folder and installing it again (it keeps a installation on the HDD just like the downloaded version)

Gotta get this game soon. But all the ebs near me don't have it for $44.95 pre owned. gotta travel like 1 and a half hours to the next closest store

All traces to Warhawk have been removed from my PS3. Game data, save data (they were the only ones).

Yet still the disc is not recognized!!

Have I wasted $99 then?

Yes.

Resistance worked. An "Angel" season five disc worked (DVD). I'm to assume everything BUT my copy of Warhawk works now.

At least I'm hoping it's my copy, and not ALL copies.

Make sure you have no finger prints or marks on the bottom of the disc... Blu Rays hate being dirty.

If all else fails I'd return it to the store you bought it from and see if it works on another machine and possibly exchange it.

I'm going to format the PS3. It may not help but what have I got to lose? Sure, all my game data, but I only have 3 games for it at present anyway. I had to go through a similar thing now because of my 360 that died months ago.

I did notice a scratch in the innermost-area of Warhawk though. Right in the area near the centre-hole of the disc. It looked like a crack.

PS. Seems the BR of Ghost Rider doesn't want to work now either!!

Call Sony on 1300 365 911 and organise a replacement ASAP!!

Unless you machine is 30 days or less old...

No. It became a year old on March 23rd, over a week ago.

EDIT: I'm 99% sure it isn't the laser. I just finished the reformat. Put 12 BRs and 3 PS3 games through the PS3. All booted up as they should.

Tested Warhawk before and after that lot. It did not boot at all.

I have noticed a slight crack in Warhawk's disc however. I'm not sure about disc structure, but the crack is situated where I'm lead to believe is the start of where the PS3 reads a BR disc. Its physical location is on the innermost centre of the disc.
