Dual Shock 3 release date and price

PS3 Rumour | Surely incorrect, we hope.
The Dual Shock 3 may be launching next week in America, but PAL gamers still haven't heard anything from Sony about when we can expect to see the vibration enhanced controller on our shores.

Well, according to local retailer Topshop the wait may not be all that long, with the retailer listing the Dual Shock 3 with a release date of the 24th of April. If this date is correct then it means the controller will be available in just a few weeks time.

While the release date certainly has us smiling, the RRP for the controller does not, with the retailer listing an RRP of $99.95. Sony hasn't officially confirmed the price or the release date for the controller, so when they do we'll report back.

Sony want to maintain their profit margins, but now they have to pay Immersion for the rumble tech. They tried screwing Immersion out of their money and it didn't work, so now it's the consumers turn. Import away!
After my pay rise this month I was going to get a PS3, but I might hold off until they ship with a DS3 now.

Oh my god. Watch the attach rate of controllers drop. Who the hell wants to spend an extra HUNDRED on a controller.

Ridiculous. Will be interesting to see what the retailers are buying them for.

Well importing an official Sony Dual Shock 3, over three months ago for $85 doesnt seem so bad anymore.

Either way the Australian release doesnt affect me.

Got mine from Japan. $50.

I guess retailers just give it more of a mark up because it is a sixaxis with rumble so has more features.

Or sony is selling it to them for more.

Either way I dont think it will stay that expensive for long.

That arguement makes no sense at all that the extra money is to pay Immersion as they haven't price gouged other countries with the DS3 price.... yet

Who wants to pay $100 dollars for a controller? Try Wii owners... 69.95 for a wiimote + 29.95 for a nunchuck = 100.
And anyway. Import it for 60 incl shipping bucks like I did and you're set.
