Devil May Cry 4 winners announced

PS3 News | Only to shed tears of joy.
PALGN recently teamed up with Capcom to give away a copy of Devil May Cry 4, as well as a PS3 to play it on and a Devil May Cry 4 t-shirt. Two runners-up would be rewarded with a copy of Devil May Cry 4 and a t-shirt. However, this wasn't your usual PALGN competition. Participants had to find some creative way to spread the word of the impending arrival of Dante and his latest game.

Well, we're pleased to announce our lucky winner:

Adam G, VIC
His entry can be viewed here.

And we can't forget our runner-up entries:

Bradley J, VIC
His entry can be viewed here.

Joshua HP, VIC
His entry can be viewed here.

As you can see, each of the winners earned their prizes, which should be with them any moment now, but there were some other very good entries as well. We'd like to thank all the entrants for going somewhere that not everyone would go. We'd also like to Capcom for the extremely generous prizes. For anyone who is interested in the game, why not check out our comprehensive review?

Awwww we managed No 2 but still No 1 entry was pretty cool none the less and they deserve the win. Party Time. If we had more time to get the editing right things may of been different but I suppose that can't be changed now, until next time we meet... I must fly?

I actually got my prize on Tuesday - a massive, massive surprise as you might imagine. I sent an e-mail to Luke and PalGN to thank them (and to make sure I had actually won!), but I'd like to take this opportunity to thank them again, as well as Capcom, for offering up a really great competition with fantastic prizes:

I'm really honoured I was chosen for first place - I didn't think I stood much of a chance after seeing the other entries on YouTube - Brad (with Jabjabs) and Josh both made really amazing videos that tried something different and really pulled it off well. So congrats to you guys as well for making awesome Devil May Cry entries icon_biggrin.gif.

So again, thank you PalGN, thank you Capcom and thank you to everyone else on the forums (especially the IRC-goers, you loveable rascals).

Mof - away!

Congrats guys! Top entry Mof, did you get hassled at all for mucking about with the statues?

Congrats Mof! In case it hasn't sunk in yet, I'll just remind you again...

Good effort guys but I personally didn't like any of them to be honest. Can I say that without being negged?

Totally fair and i agree, though i would use harsher terms for those entries. With a competition like this i expected so much more. Enjoy your prizes everyone, but only because they are damn good prizes, that's all.

ha ha awww I still can't play this game, I don't know anyone who owns a ps3.

Being silly aside, I am sort of surprised I came as a runner up, everything was adhoc and if I actually planned it (and had more battery life), the fight scene could of been much better icon_razz.gif

But yes, thank you PalGN for giving me and my friends a reason to kick up a fuss in the city, also, thanks for the wicked shirt icon_biggrin.gif

eh, expected so much more, like what? I'm not trying to have a go, I just wouldn't mind feedback.

I have dragged this on long enough, I'm going off to scribble down ideas for other random videos.

*Edit : Hehe, I forgot to add the following.
Congratulations to dark yoshi and mof.
Dark yoshi, I have been looking in the dictionary to find a word to sum up what emotions/what I think of your video with no luck.
Mof, that was awesome, how much trouble was it finding those statues?

Nope, people tended to ignore me or assume I knew what I was doing/had permission, which worked fine for me icon_smile.gif.

Originally I wanted to make gargoyles (or 'devils', hah) cry, so I hit up some Melbourne goth websites before shooting to scout for suitable locations. Most of the gargoyles were way too high up for me to get to, like those horse things on the Forum theatre that are in the video. So I ended up just going to statues that lay around Melbourne University campus that I knew were there.
