First MotorStorm 2 information released

PS3 News | Sequel moving away from the desert.

The first MotorStorm was a huge success for Sony. Despite the fact that the game didn't end up looking quite as good as when the first target video for the title was shown in 2005, the title was still a visual showcase for the PlayStation 3.

We first heard about MotorStorm 2 back in September 07, but since then very little information on the title has been revealed. Well, the BBC has revealed a small amount of information on the sequel, which is set for release by the end of the year.

One of the writers was shown the title recently at the Game Developer's Conference. The writer claims that MotorStorm 2 moves the action away from the desert and that the title is now set in a lush island environment, full of "interactive vegetation". Apparantly the game will also feature four player split screen action. The writer also commented that even though "the title is some months away from completion....the game's engine looked rock solid and the graphics were as impressive as one would expect from one of the best-looking racing franchises."

More information on MotorStorm 2 is set to be released on Wednesday, according to JeuxVideo.

I've almost got the first Motorstorm paid off in a layby my wife has going and now I wonder if I should just return it and keep my money for Motorstorm 2 at the end of the year.

Rent Motorstorm, buy Motorstorm 2.

I've already rented Motorstorm, maybe even twice... I wanted it but now that I find there's going to be a second, not sure if there's much point in buying it now as the main attraction for me was online play.

Lets hope for a bit more depth this time around. The first was good for the first 2 hours which the point were you have pretty much seen and done everything the game has to offer.

Rent Motorstorm?

No way, it's a certified buy and keep title IMHO. There's so much content there, and there's a lot of DLC for it too. Even with Motorstorm 2 coming out #1 will still be worth a full play through even years from now IMHO. Although, if you're considering buying it now, perhaps it'd be best to wait a bit as it's most likely going to be part of the Playstation 3 platinum range once they're launched in Australia. I'm not sure that'll be though, probably not untill the PS3 has passes 12 months in Australia.

All I know is, Motorstorm 1 is the game I've clocked the most hours on for my PS3, and I'm not a hardcore racing fan by any means, but it's just so easy to get into and the fun doesn't seem to wear away as quickly as many other games.

Motorstorm is a must buy and Number 2cwill also be a must buy.

Every race is a blast. Especially the motor bikes
