Metal Gear Solid 4 coming to Aus on June 12

PS3 News | You're not dreaming.

The Metal Gear Solid titles have a habit of turning up rather late in Australia. Often the games suffer delays of several months and so many PAL gamers had resigned themselves to a long wait for the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4.

Well Konami, bless them, have confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 4 will be receiving a worldwide release for the first time, meaning the game will be available in Australia on June the 12th. Heck, due to the time difference we'll even get to play the game first. Let the countdown begin.

Weren't Konami's words for worldwide in this press release phrased like this: "America, Japan, Asia and Europe"? We aren't any of those things. Sorry but I won't believe it till they say Australia specifically because we have been the only country besides NZ left out of "Worldwide" multiple times before. :\

Well in terms of physical game disc, we are getting the exact same version as europe. And most delays are due to localising languages, so here's hoping...

the VURP site which gets release dates from publishers recently changed MGS4 from Q2 to June 12.

HMMMMMM theres something suss about that but I can't put my finger on it oh wait ATARI AUSTRALIA!

I don't believe it will hit aus on june 12th as I have lost trust in atari australia.

Coming June 12 would be nice, afterall I can't really foresee any other good games coming after the next couple of epic months.

I think it'll hit Oz then, however we'll only get 1000 copies for the entire country and no new shipments for a year or two.

I really, really don't think we'll get it on launch day. Didn't Atari already say we'd be getting it after the "worldwide" launch? Can't remember where I saw that but I'm sure it was here.
Won't believe this at all until I see the word Austral[as]ia mentioned by Atari or Konami.
As it stands now, I'm still importing until I see firm proof. Heck, I think everyone should import it anyway to send Atari a message that we're sick of their slackness (ie: Portable Ops, Subsistence, and that Legacy pack that we're not getting)

Awesome news, I knew that Konami would deliver on it's promise of a worldwide release. About a month and a half earlier than I expected too which is great.

Looks like I'll have to pre-order that bundle sometime soon as well.

i just got a e-mail from Atari australia, after sending one to them requestion information about any pre-order specials and a confirmed release date. they said there will be a press release in the next few days
