Haze coming in May

PS3 News | Hopefully it won't be a hazy release.
Ubisoft have announced today via a press release that their upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive, Haze, will be hitting store shelves this May. The game was originally scheduled for a late 2007 release, but due to development issues it was delayed.

Haze is set in the year 2048, where governments have outsourced military operations to private corporations. In the game, players assume the role of Shane Carpenter, a newly enlisted solider for Mantel Global Industries who seeks thrills and fulfillment. As players battle a rebel faction known as the Promise Hand however, they’ll uncover the truth about Mantel and join their former enemy.

For more information on Haze, you can check out our hands-on preview from eGames 2007.

I was planning on using that line icon_razz.gif

It would be so hilarious if a game was set 3 years in the future, then had a massive delay and they had to change the description to say it is set in the past.

I'm not sure but something about this game screams 'flop'.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. Still, I'll play it before I judge.

Oh I hope the game makers make some money back but I just don't see ANYONE buying this game....

Well, they've had 5 months to act on the feedback they got in late 2007. So maybe it'll be a little more solid than I expect. The plot has some serious potential, I hope it's not wasted.

Does anyone actually care about this game?

The WORST game I saw at EGames was this one. Probably the worst game Ubi has been involved in.

I was looking forward to this. but after the delays and such im starting to wonder if its gonna end up being a dud.

Give it a rest. icon_rolleyes.gif Good to see them announce a new, and more importantly, believable release date. I agree that the build at eGames was fairly ordinary and needed some work, so I really hope that said work has been done and that the game will live up to my expectations. icon_smile.gif

Wasn't the dev team (forgot their name!) complaining about Ubisoft wanting to delay haze from late 2007 to early 08 because according to the dev team "the game is finished and ready to ship" and then it gets delayed again and then another delay!

If they have spent 6 months working on a game that was apparently "Finished" than god help me it better blow the competition out of the water and then pee on their heads!

Yeah it's been a bit of a let down with all the delays, but nonetheless it should be a worthy buy, i mean after Free Radical pioneering some really decent first persons on the PS2 by means of TimeSplitters it's nice to see what else they can offer us. Also TimeSplitters 4 shouldn't be too far along either.
