GDC 08: New Killzone 2 images out

PS3 News | Let's judge.
Sony have released the latest images for the PlayStation 3 exclusive, Killzone 2. Killzone 2 was originally revealed back at E3 2005 and information on the game and new images have slowly been presenting themselves ever since.

The latest images look pretty impressive and while the game is very unlikely to end up looking like the E3 2005 target video, there is no doubting that Killzone 2 (which should be out by the end of the year) is a very impressive looking title.

Blargh, no new levels still!

It looks awesome and I think I've seen these before, but Sony really need to get some new levels and such out and asap.

While these pictures do look good it does make me wonder: is there more than one level? icon_razz.gif This is getting a little out of hand now. If they don't have anything new to show why bother to show anything?

Like I've already seen these shots. What are they scared to show more?

Looks nice. And grey. Maybe they are scared, Leon. icon_wink.gif Who knows. If KZ2 fails they're screwed.

I do like the guy that looks like Will Ferrell though.

Man I'm so not going to miss out on anything if I play with Component and have one of the video cords hanging out.

It'd get the same colour depth, right?

Some of those look a bit strange, a few seem to lack depth, its like some of the enemies etc look like flat paper pop ups or something. Maybe im just crazy.

If this game is as good as it looks, I'll get a PS3

The more and more I see of this game the less I like the looks, I think Im going to opt out for Resistance 2. Chimaera take over America? Yes please ^^

Yeah, Resistance 2 is looking better than this. I also hope the PS3 shooters start adding in mouse and keyboard support now that UT3 has it, if only for the single-player campaign.

Despite trying to play FPS games on consoles since the Sega Mega Drive, I just can't get past how utterly terrible controllers are for these games. I've heard so many people say it just takes time, but I don't think any of them play online FPS games on the PC nearly every night like I do. There's no easy way to switch back-and-forth between a mouse and a controller while maintaining any level of comfort with either one, and I'll *never* give up my PC gaming just so I can get comfy with a controller, never!

I really enjoyed Resistance for the story and the graphics, but never got much past the first three hours as it was just way too frustrating.

I just picked up UT3 for PS3 today, and the Dualshock implementation is the best I have seen on a console shooter to date. Stands up against the keyboard and mouse option.

Well Killzone 2 does look good but damn they have gone way overboard with the blur effects! everything is just blurry and so dark.

It seems to me like the Graphics so far have been fudged up on purpose so we can't really tell from the screens if they are in fact good or average
like when your not sure how to spell a word so you fudge it so it people can't tell if it is indeed an "re" or "ra" because it kinda looks like both.

i hope yous understand what im rambling on about

As a PC gamer, i muchly agree although my one exception to the rule was Halo 3 and the others in the series.

After playing for 15 minutes, and with the big cross hairs, the single player is pretty good and i like how easy it is with the controller.

Now, multiplayer on the other hand... hearing console campers crow about how good they are @ pwning people online makes me really want them to bring out Counter-Strike on consoles and to interface with the Steam PC servers... icon_confused.gif
