New PlayStation 3 bundle confirmed by Sony

PS3 News | Even better value?

A few days ago we reported on the rumour that new PlayStation 3 bundles were on the way, we contacted Sony and they've confirmed the new bundle deals to PALGN.

The PlayStation 3 bundle has a $799.95 RRP and consists of the following; A PlayStation 3, a second Sixaxis controller as well as one game from the following selection of titles: Heavenly Sword, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction or NBA 08 (available February 14th).

These bundles have been available in stores since the 1st of Feb at least.

Yes, hence why we reported the rumour on the 31st and are doing a follow up on the confirmation.

I wasn't having a go at you or anything, although it appears you are taking it like that and a few of my recent comments. I was just stating that the bundle is in stores already as people might have not known when the bundle started.

Whack $200 off the price and this would be a great deal. As it is at the moment, it's only a good deal if you're already intending to buy a PS3.

Hey guys!

I work for Harvey Norman and have only just been able to bypass my Novell client at work so I can now post at will!

To confirm pricing on this bundle: the console with controller and games is retailing for $788 everywhere with Harveys adding Skate, Timeshift, Assassins Creed and an HDMI cable for a further $199.

Also, first post wootage!

Are you referring to retailer created bundles, or official Sony bundles (which these are)?

Official sony created bundles with all these goodies to the PS3

I think its pretty crap... $799 for PS3 with Uncharted which can be found for $79 + an extra controller worth what, $60?

Its decent but should have carried the same RRP of the original 40gb.

SRP for drakes is $109.95 and a controller is $79.95

given consoles are $699.95 its pretty decent if you buy at SRP.

Consoles usually go for $687 depending on the person buying and the person selling. Controllers at $70 and drakes for ~$90. still a good deal.

If you look at a console going for $687 then you are getting drakes AND a controller for $81, its not the best package ever, but its nice.

I must have been lucky. I picked up my PS3 for $598, Uncharted for $85 and extra controller for about $65 at Dick Smiths in mid-January.

Well NBA 08 would. Never a bad thing to have 2 controllers for the PS3 lying around. It's always great to charge one while you're using the other one. Not to mention always handy when you have a friend that comes around and wants play something multiplayer (rental or bought game).
