EyeToy: Play sells over a million

PS2 News | Over one million PAL gamers are now making fools of themselves in front of their televisions.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that it has sold over 1 million copies of EyeToy: Play since its release in July this year. Developed at SCEE's London Studio, EyeToy: Play offers players a completely new experience by allowing them to control the game through body movements by using the USB camera.

With the success of EyeToy: Play in PAL areas, there is no doubt that the releases in North America on November 4 and in Japan on January 28 will bring the same level of appreciation from PS2 gamers in other parts of the world. November will also see the release of SCEE's second EyeToy enabled game, EyeToy: Groove, which takes the raw fun of EyeToy: Play and throws in a groovy sound track of 25 fully licensed songs and then challenges you to dance. Expect more information on EyeToy: Groove next month.

Admittedly, some gaves are very cool (Beat freak, Kung Foo). Others just tire your arms out. (like that bloody ghost one. Ow!)

Still, it's quite a milestone.

Does that mean it's gonna be Platinum already? icon_confused.gif

You'd think, but if it still sells, why lower the price?

I think that PS2 games have to be out for 9 months and sell about 800 000 copies to be platnum.
