EA has confirmed that Rugby 08 will see release later this month on July the 26th, available on the PlayStation 2 and the PC.
"The 2007 Rugby World Cup unites rugby fans from around the world and our game, EA SPORTS Rugby 08, celebrates this passion by capturing all of the national rivalries in-game, enabling fans to play as their favourite teams from qualification right through to the championship final," said Tristan Jackson, lead producer of the game.
Rugby 08 introduces a layered pick up and play control system for set pieces and drop kicks, with players able to take command over every scrum. The game will also include a new kicking meter and new camera angles. Players will be able to participate in the 2007 Rugby World Cup by taking control of 20 teams, and there will also be a World Cup Challenge mode which recreates some of the biggest moments in World Cup History.
