Atelier Iris 3 receives PAL release

PS2 News | Koei releasing third instalment in July.
Koei has today announced that the third title in Gust’s delightful Atelier Iris series, Grand Phantasm, will be released on the PlayStation 2 across PAL territories in July.

The third instalment introduces a number of new features and updates that will gel well with fans of the series. Players will now be able to freely accept or reject quests within the game’s new ‘Guild Quest’ system, allowing more freedom in terms of what they explore. But the biggest change to the game is the decision to get rid of random battles, instead allowing players to identify enemies on the map before engaging in combat. Old favourites such as weapon and item synthesis return with plenty of improvements too.

Grand Phantasm centres around two adventurers named Edge and Iris, who happen to stumble upon a magical book. It turns out that this book holds the power to grant wishes to those who return all eight of the missing pieces.

You can read our verdict on the previous instalments here and here.
