Win one of ten copies of Free Running

PS2 Competition | You'd better hop to it.
PALGN has hooked up with Ubisoft to offer our readers a chance to win one of ten copies of Free Running. We have four copies of the PlayStation 2 version to give away, as well as five copies of the PSP version up for grabs.

Free Running is the world's first ever video game based on parkour. Parkour is the art of movement with your feet. Its participants, known as Free Runners or Traceurs, view the environment and its obstacles, urban or natural, as a series of challenges to be overcome. The game features more than sixty challenges spread out over ten different levels. There are nine different single and multiplayer modes and, as you progress through the game you'll unlock new characters, clothes and tricks.

To win, all we want you to do is email freerunning@palgn.com.au and answer the following in 25 words or less: "If you could go Free Running anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?" Please include your name, address and platform choice so we can send you something you can play.

Those who can count to ten would realise that's only nine copies, well the tenth copy is up for auction now. All you have to do is participate in our forums, by writing reader reviews or making comments on the boards and you'll earn $poons. These $poons can be used to purchase items in our auction system.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
This competition is open to all residents in Australia. The competition commences immediately and will conclude on the 10th of May. 4 (four) winners will win a copy of Free Running on the PlayStation 2. Five (5) winners will win a copy of Free Running on the PSP. One (1) winner will win a copy of Free Running on the PlayStation 2 from our auction. This is a skill based competition and the judge's decision is final. PALGN staff members and their immediate family are ineligible to win. PALGN is not responsible for lost or damaged mail and the prizes are not redeemable for cash. We reserve the right to substitute any of the prizes but will always do so for a prize of equal value. If you have any queries regarding the competition please email them to luke@palgn.com.au. PALGN reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of this competition at any time.

my entry is in, as sad as it may be, I am interested to hear what this game is like.

icon_confused.gif This isn't in the auction section.

Well I'll put my entry in..soon enough, but when is PALGN reviewing this game?

A game about running ey?
What next, a game based on Extreme Ironing (YES IT'S A REAL SPORT). These days people are making up the queerest activities and claiming them as a sport. I've seen some of the street jumping acrobatics whatnot and I do agree it would take a lot of stamina and strength to do what they do, but making it into a game is just wrong.

Those are just my thoughts

^^ Have you seen the new McDonald's ad by any chance? That's parkour just nowhere near as good as the stuff I've seen on tv. If walking can be counted as an Olympic sport than running and jumping sure as hell can be a sport as well.

Hey, I don't care if they make it a sport, but making it into a game is silly. Nobody made a walking game did they?

I'm not trying to take stabs at anyone, i'm just voicing my opinion.
I've seen a few silly games creep into the gaming industry (Little Britain, lol) and it just pisses me off. Thats all.

I'll just stick with trying to win the auction one. I'm not sure of an answer currently... (Something to do with candy, perhaps..)

This is a combination of 'Cool Runnings' and the word 'Free'. There could not be a cooler thing in the world.

Well I've now entered. Hopefully I can keep my free stuff momentum going and win this.

Vervain: Anything can be a sport these days. In Norway, DDR is a sport. True story.

Free Running is fricken awesome. If you watch the extra features on Casino Royale theres a documentry about how they did the scene at the start with Bond chasing the black guy. That black guy is like one of the best guys in the world at the sport. Very cool to watch.

Ill be entering for sure!

Pfft Aus only. icon_sad.gif Almost definitely gonna buy the game myself though, looks awesome.

RKO'd I think you'll find there'll be a lot more substance in this game than you perhaps expect (equivalent to any such sports game, THPS and the like), after watching countless documentries on Parkour, I'm sure it'll be crazy fun. icon_smile.gif

HA HA i guess i made a mistake by saying i would run away from Sony fan-boys, when this game is clearly a Sony game. icon_lol.gif

That'd be so awesome on the DS.

Control a character with an Ironing Board on their back with the D-Pad, then to set up in a certain area, a touch screen minigame comes out to set up the Ironing Board, then navigate the Iron across the item of clothing.

Heh. I've got a friend who does free running professionally.

I hadn't heard of it at all until I meet her, but seeing free running in person is... well, damn awesome... and kinda of hot icon_razz.gif. But it easily fits with other extreme sports such as skating and BMX riding, in my opinion.

The game though, I wouldn't have a clue how interesting it would be, but still sounds kind of cool regardless. Lucky PALGN readers *shakes fist*

And after doing some research, this game has been in the making for almost three years, and the trailer of the game looks mighty swish.

There's Melbournian Free Runners, Mark? I want to see it in person too!

If for whatever reason I win the game, feel free to borrow it. Or, I'll give it to you as long as I can watch some people parkouring it up locally. =D
