Burnout Dominator soundtrack revealed

PS2 News | With a couple of interesting choices.
The Burnout series has had a rather varied selection of songs in it's soundtrack over the last four games and EA's latest offering, Burnout: Dominator is set to take a rather interesting turn in that department. The leading software publisher announced today that it's headline track for Burnout: Dominator will be a new song by Avril Lavigne entitled Girlfriend.

Steve Schnur, EA's Worldwide Executive of Music said "The Burnout series is an amazing, proven platform for launching the world's biggest songs and artists, and we're thrilled to be working with Avril Lavigne this year to help debut her new song "Girlfriend. From pop to rock to metal Burnout Dominator is all about attitude and rebellion, which makes it a perfect fit for the 33 artists."

The full soundtrack consists of 33 tracks, with other artists including Alice in Chains, Filter, Jane's Addiction and N.E.R.D.

The track list includes:

  • ¡Forward, Russia! - Nine

Avril Lavigne AND Trivium. Another Burnout soundtrack I'll mute while I play my own music.

^ QFT, thanks EA for tainting another game with your Trax crap. Guess I'd better make a new Burnout playlist on my iPod...

Avril Lavigne, Pfft count me OUT.

Burnout soundtracks are irrelevant when you've got every Dragonforce song on your 360 hard drive icon_biggrin.gif Nothing fits Burnout Revenge more perfectly.

edit: I just realised this is the PS2/PSP game. Oh well, at least there's Killswitch Engage on it.

^ Killswitch is the only good song on that list IMO. Not that I've heard all of them, still Avril in Burnout? Teh Fukc?

I don't plan on getting this game anyway so the game havingAvril Lavigne on the ST doesn't bother me.

I don't want to play this one because it's like the first 2 and I only like 3 and Revenge.

AVril Lavigne why? Thank microsoft for custom music.

Don't hate on Trivium. Killswitch FTW!

There's actually some reasonably decent song choices within this soundtrack, so it's not all that bad. But I guess the whole Avril thing immediately means the soundtrack overall sucks, right?

Who the hell plays Burnout for the music anyway?

Who's on the sound track does not phase me too much - Its not SingStar.
Just so long as it keeps controlability at Revenge levels - updates the tracks, bungs in a few extra crash objectives I'm a taker for this.

The only decent choices I'm seeing is Alice In Chains (mind you, you couldn't have picked a more ill-suited AiC song than Would? for a racing game); Janes Additction; Filter; and N.E.R.D. But you're right, I'll mute it solely because Avril Lavigne is in there.

Jane's Addiction and N.E.R.D are decent tracks. the rest you couldn't pay me enough to endure them more that once. EA are getting a reputaton for poor soundtracks to decent games.
