Guitar Hero wireless guitars confirmed for Australia

PS2 News | Not this year though.
A few days ago RedOctane revealed that a wireless Guitar Hero guitar will be available in a few weeks in the states. Today RedOctane has confirmed via a press release that the wireless guitars will be available in Australia; but not until "early 2007".

This is a bit disappointing because if you want to pick up Guitar Hero II then you'll need a wired guitar, whereas the wireless guitars aren't available until next year. The wireless controls will feature a glossy white and should allow you to rock out even more.

We'll have our official verdict on Guitar Hero II shortly, Australians haven't been forgotten about entirely, Wolfmother and the Living End are featured on the game.

As guitar hero has been promised for "all major formats" I can see my collection of plastic gutars growing beyond all reasonable bounds.

I already want a GH2 red gibson because my Guitar Mania second guitar sucks!

I take it this will be the case for the xbox360 one too.

No, the wirless technology in the 360 is Microsoft's own proprietary format, and has not been released to any other company (Which is why you don't see any third party wireless controllers for the 360, I think the company can use it and pay royalities however, I'm not entirely sure). John Tam of Rec Octane did say that, because of that, there is no 360 wireless controller (any time soon) and this is only for the PS2.
