E3 2006: Final Fantasy XII screens

PS2 News | And new info on the PS2's last Fantasy.
Square Enix are set on ensuring the PS2 has life left in it yet, and have unveiled some new FFXII screenshots. As you'd imagine, the male characters in the game give the recent Castlevania leads a run for their money in the androgyny stakes, the hero Vaan in particular.

Story wise, It seems Vaan is your average angry young EMO, who lives on the streets because the evil Archadian Empire has enslaved the people of Dalmasca. He by chance meets Princess Ashe, the true heir to the Dalmascan throne, and together they set out on a quest of enlightenment throughout the land of Ivalice (yes, the same Ivalice from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on the GBA) and along the way they uncover the dark secrets of the Empire, and form a band whose cause is the downfall of the Archadians. We're not sure if there are wookies in this episode, but we'll keep you informed.

Final Fantasy XII will be out sometime late this year, and during the wait you can either watch Star Wars, or check out our six new screens.

So looking forward to this game. I wonder it is just the hype or this game is worth the 40/40 from JAP.

I must admit the characters are 'weird'. Too bad they didn't include character like Yuna from FFX.

I'm also looking forward to this game, but I doubt it is worth 40/40. Btw, don't forget Japanese have weird taste (they gave Nintendogs 40/40, and Rumble Roses very high score also)

Famitsu has a very weird rating system, their reviewers aren't exactly typical reviews. One of them is a middle aged woman, if I recall correctly.
