Interestingly, it will be a conventional 3D arcade fighting game. Development duties will be headed up by Crafts & Meister (the new studio of Noritaka Funamizu, a former producer for various Street Fighter games), with help from Bandai. Of course players will be able to choose from the usual DBZ suspects, like Goku, Vegeta and Gohan, with fighting taking place on the ground and in the air.
"Super DBZ takes the DBZ franchise into authentic arcade fighter territory,” claimed Cyril Voiron, Marketing Director, Atari Europe. “This is something new and different for the DBZ series and will mesmerize gamers with its intense gameplay and technical combo systems. Bandai are working with an excellent new studio to develop this impressive title, and Crafts & Meister’s hand-to-hand combat pedigree radiates throughout Super DBZ.”
The game has a tentative mid-year release date. If you click the 'View All Media' link underneath this text, you'll be taken to the game's first screenshots. More as we get it.
