So what's it all about? Well, players fill the boots of Jean, the hero of the game who has his hand chopped off by bandits, only to wake up one morning with a 'God Hand' (a hand that possesses the power of a god and radiates a golden glow). The ne'er-do-good bandits who chopped poor Jean's hand off were apparently after someone else though, a man who saved the world from some gigantic evil and possessed TWO GOD HANDS!
Anyway, skipping the rather rubbishy story altogether, the gist of the title is that players go round with Jean, using his glowing hand to beat enemies to a soft, bloody pulp. As producer Atsushi Inaba says, "This is a game where you have to beat the bad guys only with your bare hands; there are no swords or guns. The main character, Jean, is not a conventional hero who fights to 'save the world', but fights the bad guys because he doesn't like them. His right hand is replaced by the mysterious God Hand which has super-human power, and the bad guys will literally be blown away when this power is launched."
Right-o, anything else? Well, yes. Apparently, giant pieces of fruit will be scattered about the levels, providing Jean with a health boost when needed. It all sounds a little oddball to be honest, but with the men behind Viewtiful Joe and Resident Evil 4 on board, we're prepared to give it every chance.
