God of War 2 announced
PS2 News | Kratos set to return in second PS2 adventure.

According to US games rag Game Informer, Sony's Santa Monica studio is hard at work on a PlayStation 2 sequel to last year's brilliant God of War. God of War 2 is scheduled for an early-2007 release in the US (a PAL version will no doubt appear shortly after), and is to see the return of Kratos, the scary pale chap who was the hero of the first game. In the next title, we're promised there'll be more scrapping with figures from Greek mythology, and also the chance to ride Pegasus and claim Icarus' wings, amongst many other things we'd imagine.
The announcement of the game is hardly a surprise, however. Earlier this month, Eurogamer broke the news that God of War 2 was on the cards, only for Sony to threaten the site with legal action unless the story was removed. Now it's been officially announced though, we're free to discuss the game to our hearts content, and all without fear of Sony's men in black knocking on our door.
Anyway, click on the Media Panel for a look at some of the Game Informer scans that are circulating the web, and stay tuned for more news.
