More Guitar Heroics on the way

PS2 News | And we don't even have the original yet.
Kelly Sumner, chief executive officer of publisher Red Octane, has informed MCV that there are plenty more Guitar Hero games on the way - "five or six" by the middle of 2007, to be exact. Overkill? Maybe. For those who are unaware, Guitar Hero, which is currently unreleased in PAL regions, enables you to sling a plastic guitar over your shoulder and tap fret-like buttons and strum as per on-screen instructions.

"We are working on Guitar Hero 2, which will have 40-plus new tracks," Sumner said in a recent interview with MCV. He also said that smaller, genre-specific add-ons are on the way, the first of which being country rock and heavy freakin' metal.

The first game is set to arrive in Europe on April 7th, guitar included, at the reasonable cost of £50. An Australian release has also been confirmed, but has not yet been dated or priced.

five or six? you gotta be kidding me. But I guess having the genre specific may entice(sp?) more people to buy the game.

But I don't care as long as the original is here soon!

Heavy Metal version? Oh **** yes. icon_biggrin.gif

Here's hoping it is actually what the name suggests it is, unlike that SkitzMetal CD that was released a while ago. icon_rolleyes.gif
