Spyhunter: Nowhere to Run announced

PS2 News | A game based on a movie, which was based on a game.
It's been a busy day for Midway, with the big white sheets pulled off a host of projects. The latest of which is Spyhunter: Nowhere to Run, a series with heritage going waaaay back to the 80's. After a somewhat successful ressurection earlier this generation, the series has been dusted off for a movie, starring The Rock, so it's kind of expected that a game would be right on its tail.

Player's will take control of The Rock's character, Alex Decker, who speeds most of his time driving the Intercepter - the car with all the firepower. However, unlike past Spyhunter games, players will be able to get out of the car and run around, beating up whoever. We're sceptical, to say the least. The Rock will also provide his voice over talents to the game.

You can have a look at the first screenshots of the game in the media panel. Spyhunter: Nowhere to Run is due for a mid-year release, to coincide with the movie. We're biting our nails with anticipation.
