God of War 2 in the works?

PS2 Rumour | Details to surface next month.
Word seems to be travelling round that the next issue of the 1UP magazine will be showcasing revealing some exclusive details of the yet to be announced God of War 2. Speculation was always going to be rife, especially given the retail success and critical acclaim. The rumour claims that the magazine will detail some "precise details".

However, the game's director, David Jaffe, has been cited as saying that he's unwilling to work on a sequel and that he would've preferred to be working on an original title. So as to who will be taking the reigns of this project (if it eventuates), is yet to be known. Another thing that we have yet to find out is whether this project will be intended for PS2 or PS3 release. Given the amount of time that was spent on the original, we'd be willing to bet on the later.

Another thing - last week, Eurogamer posted an article with some early details about the game. It was quickly pulled, with a note saying how they had been threatened with legal action. Hmm...

Guess it's back to the good ol' waiting game. More as it happens, here on PALGN.

Most interesting. Hopefully they make it longer than 6 hours this time icon_razz.gif
Still, the first was quite brilliant, but the combat system was SO overhyped. Calling it deep..sheesh.
