We were wowed by Black in our hands on preview a couple of weeks ago. Now you have the chance to feel the same. Thanks to EA, PALGN has 100 demos of Black to give away to our readers. We have 50 for the PlayStation 2 and 50 for Xbox.
All discs have now been allocated. We will notify everyone who will be receiving a disc via email. Thank you to all who participated!

I think what killed it was that everyone was refreshing the flash page just beforehand and hence downloading a lot of data. The server can normally handle a lot more.

strange. i've got this funky device on my desk in order for me not to rely on that flash page (funky though it is).
Ok, all the discs are allocated. If you managed to fill in the form then you should be recieving a disc. Only a couple of people entered right at the end who were over the limit.
Thanks PALGN, and wow over 80 people online just for this.
i saw that, but i'd like to know what happened on the 26th of May, 2005 at 4am (AWST)

Yeah I've often wondered about that too.
I also thought it was my work connection as email has been down intermittently the last few days. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I scored an XBOX demo so all is good.

Yeah just wondering what was on that day, wasn't E3, so what could it have been...
I've just watched about 30 episodes of Veronica Mars back to back - I'm on the case.
No major news
No major reviews
1 highly viewed feature - which could have done it. Just over a month before that, Brendan had a very attractive guns feature which could have pulled people continuously into the late March period.
But my personal guess would be something along the lines of a PALGN major update that took place? (Like a new layout) or something forum based - otherwise, I'm out.

i watched all of season 1 back to back in late december, my sister got the DVDs back then sometime. one of the (if not THE) best shows i've seen in a LOOOONG time. i rate it higher than DH or Lost anyway.
i wonder if channel 10 knew it was so good when they bought it and programmed it for summer tv?
All the channels are klajhdfs;lhkjsad;f for the showing half a season, wait till the end of the year thing.
Channel 7 for Popular: (For not screening re-runs)
Chanel 9 for Gilmore Girls (Don't laugh, it's good shit)/Killing the OC after 4 episodes
Channel 10 for Veronica Mars (Brendan should back me up here, I mean, Joss Whedon even admited to loving the show himself - clicky) (Plus *spoilers, kinda* Alyson Hannigan, Charisma Carpenter and Joss have all been in episodes)
the others really didn't do anything for me, especially The OC. you can also add:
Scrubs
Malcolm in the Middle
That 70s Show
and probably a whole heap more to the "good, but dicked around for Aussies" list.

Add Six Feet Under, Third Watch and the Sopranos to that list. Third watch was recently on air, but we are maybe 5-6 seasons behind. And the chances of the series returning later in the year? Zip.
About our largest amount of members online at once, it was because we were hacked at that time (couple of days) that was sending a bug through the system. So, that number isn't official as far as I know.
