ICO receives a 2006 re-release
PS2 News | For those who missed out last time, here’s your second chance.

While ICO never managed to become a financial success, the game still remains as one of the most stunning games to grace consoles this generation. However, it seems as time passed, like many truly successful items, the demand and popularity surrounding the title has increased despite many gamers never playing the title. Thankfully, SCEE have today announced that they will be re-releasing creator Fumito Ueda’s wondrous masterpiece, ICO, early 2006 to tie-in with his latest creation’s release Shadow of the Colossus.
A game that feels more like an ‘experience’ rather than a game, sees gamers following the mysterious path of a young boy, where he must escape from a castle that he finds himself imprisoned in, along with a ghostly girl named Yorda.
The ICO re-release will be hitting stores across Europe in February, alongside the release of Shadow of the Colossus. It is currently unknown whether or not remaining PAL countries (Australia/New Zealand) will also be receiving similar treatment with the title. But until we hear otherwise, gamers can stop can stop bidding 99euros for ICO on Ebay.
