E3 2005: Resident Evil 4 Bonus Features

PS2 News | Bonus features for the PlayStation 2 announced.
Capcom have announced that the Playstation 2 version of Resident Evil 4 will come with extra bonus features that the Gamecube version didn't have.

In Resident Evil 4 players are reacquainted with Leon S. Kennedy, Raccoon City Police Department's idealistic rookie cop from Resident Evil 2. It has been six years since the destruction of Raccoon City and in that time, the U.S. government has been able to destroy the nefarious Umbrella Corporation. Fast forward to 2004 and players rejoin Leon, who is now a U.S. agent with a top-secret mission. He has been tasked to look into the abduction of the President's daughter and his investigation has led him to a mysterious location in Europe. As Leon encounters unimaginable horrors, he must find out who or what is behind everything.

Resident Evil 4 includes the following features:
  • Unsurpassed visuals - Resident Evil 4 features breathtaking 3D graphics and effects
  • Behind the camera view - Camera follows the player from behind and allows for intuitive movement
  • New never before seen enemies - Creatures that defy the laws of nature!
  • Advanced AI - Enemies are now smarter than ever and use their cunning abilities to team up and attack the player en mass
  • Enhanced, deeper story elements - Conversations and monologues can be heard in real time
  • Action button - Pressing the context sensitive button allows players to perform various actions
  • Aim and shoot - Ability to zero in on enemies with weapons

^^ i was wondering the same as the 2nd Opinion... how are these bonuses? surely these were in the NGC version...

Yes they were.

Only bonuses it could have would be extra movies etc. The PS2 version couldn't even have gameplay tweaks, since the physics engine will be greatly diminished.

Hmm I hope they don't add some cool bonus, like what happened with Viewtiful Joe. I dare say you will be able to play through the story as another character though. That would be quite possible, and I was suprised they didn't do so (unless they did and I need to unlock it).

Yep. Total lack of new bonus features present there...

It sucks that they give the bonuses to the PS2 crowd though. Just gives them something extra to gloat about. icon_neutral.gif

It's a real pain in the ace to RE fans too - you have to buy an inferiour version on yop of the real version you already own just to get the extras!

Like how I had to get code veronica X on PS2, which is actually worse then he Dreamcast game I already owned, because they put extended endings in.
