E3 2005: Ultimate Spiderman Announced

PS2 News | Spidey's back, and this time in comic book form.
Activision have today announced the return of Spiderman, with Ultimate Spiderman set for a release later this year on both the XBox and Playstation 2.

For the first time players will be able to play as Spider-man and a super-villian in a new storyline. The two distinct combat systems allow players to defeat enemies differently, using Spider-Man's fluid, acrobatic moves or the super-villain's brute force.

The game will also allow gamers to experience a living comic book with the innovative 3D comic inking technology.

Move through a detailed environment and sense danger from multiple perspectives. Activision are also promising this will be the deepest Spider-Man game ever. Ultimate Spiderman is penned and illustrated by the Comic Book makers - Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley.

Ultimate Spider-man will be available later this year, we've included the first images in the media panel.

heh, that looks pretty cool... much better than the movie tie-ins...

i wonder why so few comic book inspired games are cel-shaded? personally i liked Hulk for using it...

i guess they are trying to make it less "geeky" by making them realistic...
