32 New Final Fantasy X-2 Screens!

PS2 News | We've got 32 NEW FFX-2 PICTURES, captured directly from the most recent trailer (also available).
We like to call them RPG kings of our age or even the best gaming company ever. But with all their nicknames, it still doesn’t change the fact that Squaresoft can still pull off an amazing game, and even continue to amaze their gamers with new features and even pasting the limits of any console. Even if it means making four discs for the game, thank-you very much Final Fantasy IX.

Even if you don't like their games, these new screens we pulled up from their upcoming title Final Fantasy X-2 will simply amaze you. Here are a bunch of images from the game's latest trailer, which reveals direct footage from the game's battles and running cut-scenes. Well okay, the pictures might not be enough for you, so we've got the new trailer as well!

I hated the FFX conversions, very terrible.

Also I must note for my next article not to put long headings and bum... *notes down in notebook*

Don't get your hopes up about getting a better PAL conversion. Here's a bit from an interview with Shinji Hashimoto (please excuse the bad translation):

SP: Lately a lot of our readers have pointed out that you PAL conversions are inferior (word?). What do you have to say to them?

SH: We have researched quite a lot about how we can improve PAL conversions and the possibilities to maintain the smoothness of the NTSC versions, and I think we have managed to do quite well with that so far. Especially if you think about how fast we have released the conversions ( me: wtf). If we had done it in another way the graphics and framerate would have been suffering.

SP: How is it that many other companies make much better conversions? Isn’t it just about putting more energy into the product? How fun is it to play a game where 30% of the screen is covered with black borders.

SH: Now you are exaggerating, it’s more like 15%.

SP: Anyway, it is still 15% too much.

SH: As I said earlier we strive to make preserve the framerate and the graphics quality from the Japanese version. There is too little memory in Playstation2, if we try to make a conversion in fullscreen we would have to delete certain segments. What we do is a kind of compromise.

SP: Should I take this as that the quality of your conversions will continue to be like this or that you will actually do better in the future.

SH: We will never give up (laughs)! As you understand it’s also about releasing the game in Europe within a reasonable time. Who will appreciate a game that is 2 years late?

Squaresoft certainly aren't slacking with their superior gamedesign, are they? Those shots look great icon_smile.gif , it's hard to believe it's on a PS2 icon_razz.gif

Speaking of X-2 when's (or is) Guilty Gear X2 being released here?

I have gotten bored with Final Fantasies repetitive nature, big deal better graphics, I couldn't care less about that, unless the frame rate is terrible in the first place and they improve it that way. Which FF didn't really suffer too badly from in the past, since it was all very slow anyway. Another reason why I dislike almost all RPGs. Also the reason why I think Megaman Battle Network is awesome. Action in battles icon_biggrin.gif Moving and shooting and using special weapons when you want to. Secret of Mana also rocks by my definition, which it does.
