Tekken 5 in 2005

PS2 News | Namco's fifth baby due this summer.
You should thank us for protecting you from the perilous waters of press release superlatives. An easily persuated person would spend his days watching gameplay clips of Spongebob Squarepants Movin' with Friends hadn't we re-written those charalatan texts. You know, just so you know. Not that we question your integrity or anyth... Erm, onto the proper article now then.

It's due out this summer, and in addition to including a range of fighters from the previous games, this upcoming Tekken iteration boasts the inclusion of 3 new characters. Additionally and traditionally, all 17 oldies have been taught new moves and combos.

Hideo Yanagihara, Director of Namco Ltd, touts his game: "With the completely new fighting engine, customizable characters and interactive environments, no fighting game fan will want to be without it."

There's also promise of the inclusion of character customization which, although an increasingly customary feature in recent year's games, hasn't been a part of previous Tekken titles. Such treats as hats, glasses and various costumes can be purchased with 'fight money' you earn throughout the game.

Lastly, a 'bonus action adventure game' will unfold as a side story to regular fights.

A definitive date is yet to be announced, but expect a release in July or August of next year.

Ive never liked , nor understood Tekken , but from the screenshots of Tekken 5 I saw in Famitsu...it looks exactly the same as tekken tag to my untrained eyes.

Well, it's a pretty standard EA-ish sequel gig; bigger, better-looking, a few new minor features etc. But fans of the series are content with that - a game that's been upgraded in most aspects but hasn't undergone any major changes.

Don't fix what isn't broken, a friend once told me.

When I first read the message I thought the same thing until I re-read it.

hi im a new user RazzaTheNemesis
Personaly i can't wait for tekken 5 iv'e been a fan since the 1st on the original sony, when they looked like brick people!!
It better have, better endings this time though, because Tekken Tag had worst endings i've seen and T4's were nothing special.

Now the aninmation has improved by leaps and bounds with new moves combos and usually characters added. I hope they add some element of tekken tag, coz although the game lacked the tag ideah was kool. Then again i was a bit dissapointed in the lack of unlockables in T4.
