Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 pulled off store shelves

PS2 News | Production error causes a technical issue believed to affect all copies of the game.
Electronic Arts has recalled all stock of the Playstation 2 version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 from retail in Europe, after the discovery of a technical issue believed to affect all copies of the game.

The publisher however has been working hard to rectify the problem and replenish stock as quickly as possible.

“We have had only one per cent of Tiger Woods owners call our customer service line to report an issue.” Announced Tiffany Steckler, the director of European corporate communications. “It’s a small number of people that’s been affected, but we thought it was better to exchange copies all at once.”

The problem seems to be an “unprecedented disc production issue,” and while it’s said that a majority of players will never encounter this problem; Electronic Arts has gone to great lengths in dealing with the situation. - “The fact we’re going to the pains of exchanging all copies of the product shows how seriously we are taking this, we wouldn’t be comfortable otherwise.”

“We aim to re-ship a revised version of the game within three weeks and are working hard to get Tiger Woods fans back into the game as quickly as possible.”
