Aside from the expected addition of new mini-games (see below for more on these), it seems Sony's London Studio, who were also behind the first game, has been racking it's brains to find new purposes for the little black web-cam, outside of making a tit of yourself in front of friends. Thus, say hello to 'Motion-Cam' (which registers speed of movement and is apparently to be used in a boxing mini-game to measure the speed of punches), 'Sonic-Cam' (which allows you to bawl instructions at your television), 'Colour-Cam' (we're not sure what this does exactly) and 'Cutout-Cam' (which, as the name suggests, can cut you out and superimpose your gurning image on a variety of backgrounds).
Perhaps most intriguing of all however is the new (and distinctly Orwellian) 'SpyToy' feature. Once in this mode, you can utilise the web-cam as a sort of CCTV unit, capable of recording and photographing any living thing that chooses to cross the view of the lens. You can even opt to have messages delivered to you when people pass by. Suddenly, PALGN anticipates that biscuit jar raids may prove rather more problematic in the near future.
A selection of new mini-games have been introduced into the mix as well, and they sound as eclectic as ever. Kung2 (see what they did there?) promises high-kicking shenanigans and probably all sorts of hamstring-related injuries, whilst Mr.Chef sees the player making burgers and fries as quickly as possible. DIY and Table Tennis are other noteworthy additions, and apparently some of the mini-games from the first title are set to make a return, though Sony hasn't confirmed which will be reappearing.
There's the odd new multiplayer mode kicking about now as well, with players taking turns at playing quick-fire games (Ã la Nintendo's superb Wario Ware series of games), and around 80 bonus games are also set to make it into the final cut.
Stay tuned for more as it develops.
