Prince of Persia 2: Combat Evolution

PS2 News | UbiSoft's Jean-Christophe Guyot talks us through some new additions to the sequel.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was one of the most impressive titles to hit the gaming world, and has ever since kept gamers dying for more. Although the game was spectacular and delivered one of the freshest experiences, it did suffer from one major issue. That being the repetitive combat system that on occasions made the game a little boring. However, with a bit of tweaking here and there, that shouldn’t be an issue with this year’s upcoming sequel.

The new combat system will now allow gamers to choose exactly how they’ll kill their foes. Grab an enemy and throw them into another enemy, split them in half, or cut their head off. In addition to the new combat system, gamers will now be able to pick up enemy weapons to assist in fighting enemies.

Prince of Persia 2 will feature 63 weapons categorized in five main weapon classes. Each class will require different timings and rhythms to attack, which should add plenty of variety and each weapon category will also generate one irresistible special attack.

That latest video released by Ubisoft offers a look at the game’s new fluid combat system and new aspects of gameplay from the upcoming Prince of Persia 2 title. Watch the video by clicking on the link below.
