E3 2004: WRC 4 Announced

PS2 News | It's back. Again.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has today announced the first information regarding its fourth World Rally Championship game, imaginatively titled WRC 4.

WRC 4 allows fans to fully participate in the action of the WRC season, experiencing the thrill of all 16 WRC locations on 5 continents. Including more than 100 different stages - Point to Point, Super Special, Shakedown and Sprint Stages - WRC 4 allows the gritty, fast-paced realism of Rally to be faithfully recreated on PlayStation 2. Featuring all of cars and drivers of the 2004 season, WRC 4 includes two brand new rally cars seen in a computer game for the first time - the Peugeot 307 WRC and Mitsubishi Lancer 2004 WRC. Players can also choose to race in any of this year's WRC rally locations, including the new rallies in Mexico and Japan.

WRC 4 now includes network play encouraging players to take their rallying skills online. The top 100 drivers on any stage can upload their times to the internet.

Offline, players can experience the key moments in the career of a professional race driver progressing through 11 levels to reach the top.

New technological enhancements make WRC4 more authentic than ever with more detailed and realistic settings as well as photo realistic textures. The realism is highlighted as vehicles move through the landscapes, sweeping past fading vistas and kicking up particles of dust as they swirl around the track adding to the dynamism and excitement of the WRC experience.

PALGN will have more on WRC 4 as it is announced.
