E3 2004: The Getaway: Black Monday Information

PS2 News | New announcements on the sequel to the Getaway bring with them a new title.
The Getaway: Black Monday is the anticipated sequel to the original Playstation 2 title The Getaway. The Getaway: Black Monday builds on the replicated 25 miles of London and delves deeper into the seedy underground for the ultimate gangland thriller.

The Getaway: Black Monday brings with it a lot of new features. Gamers will appreciate the new more predictable driving and on-foot controls, huge variety in mission types and new characters.

Atmospheric lighting, sound and set design and more than 20 actors were involved in the making of The Getaway: Black Monday blurring the lines between games and movies.

The Getaway: Black Monday will feature cinematic narrating with driving and shooting missions in the streets of London, which has been updated with 17 new landmarks and city locations, including portions of the underground subway system and the Thames River.

The Getaway: Black Monday will feature three new characters, Mitch, Eddie and Sam each with their own skills, abilities and attitudes.

One story is told from three different perspectives, but ultimately the player decides how the story ends as they play through 22 missions. Finding the best way to get to and complete the next job requires brains as well as brawn.

Gamers can choose from a variety of new vehicles including motorcycles, buses, vans, taxis and more, to steal, drive and crash, experiencing re-defined physics and damage models.

PALGN will have more on The Getaway: Black Monday as it is announced.
