The newsletter also contains a Q&A with the game's lead designer, John Comes, who had this to say about 'white boxing' the game (a process that involves designing and building the core gameplay, without spending any time, or money, on art assets):
'If you were to look at the original design document, the original maps or play an early version of the game, you wouldn't recognize the game we have today. White boxing gave us a luxury most game makers don't get—we could drastically change the gameplay when something wasn't working without spending any money on redoing art assets. "Find the fun first" was our motto.'
The newsletter includes information about how Gas Powered Games are heading down the self-publishing path, having previously publishing under the THQ banner. It also mentions the forthcoming Dungeon Siege movie, and how Space Siege will be covered at CES.
