Grab one of 1000 copies of Fury

PC Competition | Furific!
To celebrate the December 14th launch of Fury's huge new add-on Age of The Chosen, Brisbane based developer Auran has kindly offered to give away 1000 copies of Fury to PALGN readers. That's a retail value of well over $50,000!

Age of The Chosen will include a two new game-types, Carnage & 1v1 Elimination, with 7 brand new maps to accompany them. The tutorial and interface has been streamlined and various rebalancing and bug fixes will improve the game's overall experience.

To grab your copy of the PC game, simply be only of the first 1000 people to answer the following question correctly; In what city is Fury's developer, Auran based? To make it extra easy it's even multiple choice!

The Age of The Chosen content update for Fury will be available to download from the Fury servers on December 14th. PALGN would like to thank Auran for the prizes and organising this competition.

UPDATE: All Copies of Fury have now been allocated. Thanks to everyone who entered.

A shame, but a big thanks to PALGN and Auran for even giving everyone the opportunity in the first place. It's the thought that counts and it was a very generous gesture!

A lot of people who should have received copies have not, this is something PALGN wouldn't be able to track or give you a definite reason for.
I also didn't receive the copy I should have got.

It might mollify many of you to know that it really isn't a game which is even worth installing. I had high hopes for it, but it gives the Australian Gaming Industry a bad name.

EDIT: Not trying to bash it, just let you know not to be too worried about missing a copy. If you're really desperate for one, PM me and I'll send you mine. icon_wink.gif

I can definitely understand all the criticism thrown at it, and I find it hard to give the game a chance since even getting it working was an absolute pain for me (had to redownload the entire game, patching from the version I had on disc didn't work for me).

The game feels like it was released several months too early, and in a bad time. Once I get into some combat it does feel rather exciting, and I think there is a lot of wasted potential there. Six more months in QA, streamlining things, optimizing the game and fixing the patching/general tech issues, then releasing it in the quieter mid year window would have meant (IMO) that at minimum the project would break even.

A real shame. It's worth a try though, and for free its not a bad game (but for full retail price it just isn't worth it).

i'm glad i'm not the only one who couldn't patch it from the disc.
i haven't tried downloading it entirely again though, so i guess it remains to be seen if that's a fix that works for me too (though i don't see why it wouldn't.)

in the end, it seemed like too much effort/quota for something that i shouldn't need to do.

(i suppose Gamershell should have an iiNet mirror i could use, but now that i've gotten back into WoW, i don't know if i have the time.)

There is an iiNet Mirror for GamersHell. I almost downloaded the fury Client on Freezone once.

I downloaded the failed patch, the full client, and then the patch that I needed for the downloaded client all from the iiNet GamersHell mirror. I wouldn't be with iiNet if it wasn't for the mirror, if they don't have something I need, I email them and in less than 24h it is mirrored on the site with an iiNet mirror. I probably use 15gb+ from the Freezone every month, its brilliant.

For anyone else:
The client (2.6GB)
Patch for the client (544MB)

Then once its all installed (takes a while, be patient), it'll download a smaller hotfix off the Auran servers (60MB). Take a look at those version numbers too and youll understand why the game feels so BETA (the 'patch' takes you from version 29516/30055/30108/30323 to version 32878.. icon_rolleyes.gif )
